Dinner & Diplomacy: Inspiring students one mouthful at a time | Claire Espinosa | TEDxUWCRBC

If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, with whom would it be? After noticing the inequality of opportunities to take part in global discussions, Claire helped found Mouthful.org, a non-profit with the goal to bring together students from under-resourced communities with inspirational global leaders for dinner. Hosting dinners across the US and Europe, Claire discusses the impacts of sitting down for dinner with an inspiring activist, politician, environmentalist, rocket scientist, etc. Whether at dinner with a world-renowned journalist or for a quick chat with a neighbor, Claire encourages greater dialogue between people who may not appear to have similar ideals, backstories, or global perspectives. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Claire is fueled by a passion to bridge the youth opportunity gap and disrupt the status quo through the exchange of stories, inspiration, and beliefs. Claire is a first-year at the international high school United World College Robert Bosch College in Germany. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
